Vault Zero

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Gordonbyte LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the Vault Zero mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. The Service

Vault Zero is a personal, zero-based budgeting tool that helps you plan income and expenses, set savings goals, and—optionally—connect your financial accounts to view balances and transactions. The App is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.

Vault Zero is not a bank, money transmitter, or financial advisor. We do not hold, move, or have access to your money. Information in the App is for budgeting and informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

3. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • You agree to enable the available security features (such as biometric or PIN lock) where appropriate, and to notify us promptly at email us of any unauthorized use.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security or legal risk.

4. Connecting Financial Accounts (Plaid)

If you choose to link a financial institution, you authorize us and our service provider Plaid Inc. to access information from that institution on your behalf, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of Plaid is also subject to the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.

You represent that you are authorized to provide the credentials and access the accounts you connect. Account and transaction data is provided by your financial institution through Plaid; we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness, and you should rely on your institution’s official records. You may disconnect any linked institution at any time within the App.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose;
  • Access or attempt to access another user’s account or data;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, interfere with, or attempt to bypass the security of the App or its backend;
  • Use automated means to access the App in a way that burdens or disrupts our systems;
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or data.

6. Your Data and Content

You retain ownership of the budget data and content you enter. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that data solely to provide the App to you. We handle your information as described in our Privacy Policy. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from within the App (Account → Delete Account).

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including Plaid and Google (Firebase / Google Cloud Platform). We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, or content of third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms and policies.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT DATA PROVIDED BY FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GORDONBYTE LLC AND ITS OWNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD $100. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gordonbyte LLC and its owners from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required for security, legal, or operational reasons. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12) will survive.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where prohibited by applicable law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
